Animega Mix Dance Off

Always wanted a chance to show everyone your dance moves? Now is your time to show everyone what you got!

Entry Forms are found here.  Only one entry form is needed per group.

We will have a mandatory rehearsal ( Friday or Saturday , time tba ). This is for Kawaii Kon to work with the groups on cues, group orders, and to make sure it abides by Kawaii Kon rules. Any groups that can't make it to the rehearsal must contact Jason Kaawa at die_bleed@yahoo.com to make arrangements. Any groups that are not approved prior to the show will not be able to perform.  Please bring a completed entry form and a CD of your music with you.

Music must be from an anime or japanese source, or based off of one (such as a techno re-mix).

Music must be submitted by the time of the rehersal with only the tracks to be played on it.  This is to give us time to create a compilation cd and make the transitions smoother.

There will be a total of 15 entries.  No more then 10 individuals per entry. The time limit for every performance is 3 mins. If any performance goes over the 3 min mark, it will be stopped and the performers will be led off stage.

The competition will be held in the Main Events room at (time tba ). The contestants will perfom on the stage, which will be cleared off.

 

The performers will be judged on 4 areas:

Difficulty / Technical Skill  

Choreography / Timing - Composition, how well your performance flows, and how accurate your timing is to each other, and the music.

Originality - adding a little twist to your performance- how creative are you?

Wardrobe - how well your clothes match the type of song your dancing to.

 

Scoring will be on a 1 - 5 basis for each category. With 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.

At the end of the performances the judges will deliberate, and an overall winner will be chosen, as well as a winner in each category, when available.

 

Other Guidelines:

1. Fill out all paperwork to its utmost completion. Failure doing so could hinder our ability to adequately judge.

2. Dishonesty regarding personal information, etc. will not be tolerated at Kawaii Kon. Dishonesty risks disqualification and may even affect one's ability to enter future Kawaii Kon competition.

3. No actions that risks harm to participants or spectators will be tolerated.  Violators will be disqualified, and removed from the premises.

4. No nudity. Topless guys are okay, but topless women are not. If in doubt, cover it up.

5. All participants in the Dance Off under the age of 16 require a parent or guardian at check-in. This is especially true for youth level entrants.

6. The Dance Off Coordinator has final say in all circumstances and disputes and may change the rules at any time if necessary.

7. Eat, drink, and use the bathroom ahead of time.
