All Art Auction and Art Gallery submissions can be dropped off on the Thursday set-up day between 5-9pm.

Winning bidders artwork pick up and payment
Live Art Auction Event: Winning bidders the must pay for their art piece(s) immediately after the event with either cash or credit card payment.
Silent Auction: Winning bidder in the, you must pick up and pay for their art piece(s) on Sunday between 10am and 12pm with either cash or credit card payment. If you are unable to pick up or pay for your artwork at this time, please contact the Artist Alley Director as soon as possible. Any artwork that is not claimed by 12 noon, will be returned to the artist.
Artists artwork pick up and payment
On Sunday between 12 to 1:30 pm, Artists may pick up any unsold or display only (not-for-sale) artwork. If your artwork sells at Kawaii Kon, you may pick up your payment during this time.
Any artwork not claimed by 5pm on Sunday becomes the property of Kawaii Kon. Please inform the Art Room Director in advance if you are unable to claim your art piece during the scheduled hours.
If you are unable to pick up your payment during this time, a payment check will be mailed to the home address you provided on your application. Please note that it may take 6 to 8 weeks for you to receive your check. If you do not receive payment, please contact the Art Room Director at art@kawaii-kon.org.
Rules for Artists:
[ONE] There is a $2.00 per piece fee to auction or display your artwork in the Art Auction and Gallery. This fee is duein cash when the piece is delivered.
[TWO] We will not accept mailed artwork. Pieces must be submitted in person on Thursday. If you are unable to submit your artwork during the scheduled hours, contact the Art Room Director (art@kawaii-kon.org).
You will be allowed to set the starting bid (minimum bid) price for your artwork on the application form. Please consider your starting bid amount carefully and keep your price reasonable.
[THREE] For Art Auction pieces, Kawaii Kon will retain a 5% commission off the final sale price of any purchased piece.
[FOUR] The Art Room will also accept pieces for display only (not-for-sale). If you would like to display your work, but have no interest in selling; be sure to check the Display Only box on the Art Show application form.
Gallery space is awarded on a "first come, first served basis," so submit early!
[FIVE] If special arrangements are required, such as for very large pieces or installations requiring electricity, please contact the Art Room Director at (art@kawaii-kon.org).
Artwork Submission Policy:
Kawaii Kon Art Show and Auction will welcome art pieces of any media type and style within the following rules.
[ONE] You may display fan art (dojinshi) or original pieces, but you must credit the ORIGINAL artist.
No offensive material. Kawaii Kon is a family-friendly convention (artistic nudity is allowable, but keep your piece(s) at least PG-13).
[TWO] If your artwork is questionable, the Art Room Director has final say on will be allowed into the show.
Merchandise items, such as bookmarks, multiple prints, screened shirts, etc., will not be allowed. If you wish to sell such items, please purchase a vendor table in Artists Alley.
[THREE] All 2-D artwork must be mounted, matted, or framed and ready to hang. Construction paper, thin paper backings, or sheet protectors are NOT substitutes for heavy stock mattes, foam board, or frames. (Heavy stock refers to at least 120 lb weight paper that is not easily bendable or rollable.) All framed pieces must have a hook or line from which the piece can be hung flat. Please prepare your pieces accordingly. These requirements are to ensure the safety of the patrons and the artwork.
[FOUR] If you are submitting 3-D artwork, please notify the Art Room director in advance so we can arrange for appropriate display.
[FIVE] Worked reproductions CANNOT BE SOLD (must be classified "Not for Sale") and must be credited appropriately. Uncredited artwork will be turned away or removed upon discovery. A worked reproduction is defined as a composition of an existing, published piece of artwork, such as images from a poster or an art book.
[SIX] Once entered into the show, pieces may not be withdrawn and the conditions of sale may not be changed. This includes the amount of minimum bid, not for sale status, quick sale amounts, etc.
Rules for Bidders:
[ONE] Bidders must register at the Art Show registration table to be assigned a bidder number.
[TWO] Bidding must be in at least $1.00 increments
[THREE] If a piece does not reach the minimum bid amount set by the artist, the piece will be returned to the artist.
[FOUR] All bidders must honor their bids if they win an auction. Pieces must be picked up and paid for no later than 12pm on Sunday.
[FIVE] All art pieces must be paid for with cash or charge. All sales are final.
[SIX] All pieces not claimed at the end of that year's convention will be considered abandoned and property of Kawaii Kon.
