Apparently, I'm not as well-versed in anime as I thought. But hey, I listened to 2chan's top 300 anime songs they put up in 2008 and had heard maybe half of them.

However, I did memorize the main Nico Douga Medleys and I do have this and this on my iPod.

T-minus four weeks.

I am both excited about seeing new guests this year, but I'm also saddened by (what looks like) a decrease in guests.

But that makes me frightened: Why so few guests? Was it the timing of the convention? Were most of the other VAs busy? Did they not want to attend? Was it something we (the attendees) did wrong? Are we running out of money? Did the amount of pre-registers drop so there wasn't enough money to get accommodations for more guests?
Yes, I am a worrywart. (By the way, all those were rhetorical questions. I'm also patient so I can wait till next year.)

I've got to get a new jacket before the con starts.

Whatever the reason may be, ideally, the more attendees we have coming to the Kon the more the Kon can feasibly provide. Let people know about the Kon? Spread the word?

P.S. Whomever is starting this silly rumor about how KK is shutting down in a few years, stop. To what do you owe your basis? We have an average CONSTANT growth rate of about 7% per year. VA's actually ask us to come. We have willing directors and staff that work their hearts out for free and love to do their job. Unless something drastic happens like not a single soul shows up on Friday, (and even then we'd give it another year) I wouldn't worry one bit.

Total agreement (Remember, this Kon is still growing, and the outcome is good). Have faith, never have doubts, and if KK means alot to you ( and I do mean ALOT OF YOU ), then be a strong avocate/ supporter of your Anime convention here in Hawai'i, and any other that is getting the Anime community out there to the public. Knowledge is also will to power! It is okay to have defying questions, but never stray or become weaken by such rumors, or suggestions... Stay cool, stay strong, and you won't go wrong! :!:

As I witnessed back then in reading about the "other" big time Anime convention on the mainland in a different thread posted in these forums, the one with everyone quiting, I stated I pray our own Kon does not faulter and become infested by such undoings... Solve it! Don't revolve it! It's only human we react insuch a way, but until the admins and the founder himself say anything differ, there is no need to worry and be like Chicken Little:

"The Kon is falling! The Kon is falling!" ---NNNOOO WAY, JOSE'! :!:

So, as I always say, in my own little way...

I was just put off by how little guests there are this year compared to all the other years we had it at the convention center. I thought that since we're getting less guests, we couldn't afford to get more because we didn't make enough on pre-registration. I apologize if I troubled anyone. I agree with quality over quantity. I'll just wait and see the con schedule when it's posted. I may be a worrywart, but I'm not a moron.

WIth that "heavy" topic out of the way:

I just caught myself watching videos of old Disney movie songs on YouTube. It's weird how I classify movies from the 90s as old now. I remember when Digimon used to be on Fox Box and ABC Family, KidsWB had the best Saturday morning cartoons, and there were only three live-action shows on the Disney Channel.

I think I've got to make more difficult choices this year than last year. So many things happening at the same time!

(I really hope to be one of the lucky 100-200 people that would get Yamaguchi's autograph! And I can't believe he has a panel the same time as Wendee on the last day. And there seems to be a larger emphasis on panels this year. And I still hoped that we would have an AMV viewing session that takes requests. And I think Ineed to go sit in a corner to calm down a little.)

Keep in mind there is no autograph limit this year for the guests, just a time limit. Try to be courteous and make the best use of our signature times so everyone can get a chance to meet them~

- The reason why he has the same time as Wendee on the last day is because she has to catch a plane.

- I'm all about con-goer involvement. Power to the panels!
- There is sorta a request hour on Sunday called AMV Watercooler in the Video 2 Room.

HEY TOSHI! Is it possible to make a actual section for "Kawaii-kon 2012 cosplay photoshoots"? so its easier for everyone to be organized and much easier to be posted in the program guide (I noticed the pokemon one wasnt in there for 2011)

If it wasn't sent in to me I didn't put it on the schedule. I would love to make a separate section for it, unfortunately I don't have the page space for it. So the best I can do is what I did; which is make it a distinguished line on the schedule. If you want to send in one next year I'll have the photography group submission form for 2012 up this week.
