Wow, no callers huh? Shoot, I guess I'll go first.

I had first heard about MLP:FiM way back in December. Naturally, I scoffed at the idea of it. Yet a couple of my friends were persistent, claiming that it was "awesome" and "it's not like what you think it is". I didn't pay any attention until I sprained my ankle literally the weekend before Fall semester started. Bored, I decided to finally watch at the series. I couldn't bring myself to watch the actual episodes, so I watched the Bronycomms commentary for the first episode. Then the next one. Then I started watching TheOtakuAscended's My Little Pony Let's Watches. Then a bunch of fan videos. Before I knew it, I'm awake in front of my computer at three in the morning on Saturdays so I can watch people livestreaming new episodes.

Although I do like the show, I think it's disadvantageous to push it on others. That's what seems to cause the most anti-brony sentiments. And frankly, some members of the fandom scare me. Have you seen the gifs and fanart people made from "Lesson Zero"? Or the disturbing guy who came up with the fanfic "Cupcakes"? But hey, every fandom have those people.

I would also like to note that Bronies are not the same as Furries. There may be some overlap, but I'm not whining.

I stumbled upon it on some many forums around 6 months ago. I saw many users with avatars and sigs of MLP and I wondered what it was all about. I eventually discovered what it was and watched the first episode. I got hooked. Then joined the bandwagon :3 Now I am a full-fledged brony.

I don't think so, it's mostly been the Minecraft forums that I've been seeing them on.

I saw the first whole episode during the post-kon party at UH last year. Then tonight, I went through 20 pages of the bronies site on cheezburger.com, while reading up on Doctor Whooves and clopping. I even bought a piece of pony swag at the kon, even if I gave it away. What do I do?

I'm also kind of afraid of becoming a typical brony, because even my closest friends tell me to cork it whenever I start going on about something they can't relate to (even though I have to suffer through it when they do), and since they're not the kind of nerd I am, they won't understand a guy being into ponies.

If they were your real friends they wouldn't judge you for who you are and what you like. Your choice to get into it or not. But I would wholeheartedly support your decision and thank you for giving it a chance instead of labeling it as a "Stupid kid's show" like many other people I know.

Think I've been watching and a fan for about a year now. I've seen every episode so far (on youtube, don't have the hub channel ) and looking forward to season three. It's a great show for sure. Kinda surprised me to be honest. Though considering it's by some of the same people that brought us Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, PPG, and KND there's no doubt of the greatness. And talk about a well rounded and famous voice cast too. I hate to admit it, but I even made a yahoo group for it

I've sort of learned that there is a time and a place for everything, which includes when to talk about MLP. I do occasionally name-drop the show like an idiot during the convention or when talking to my friends, but that's only because I know that they actually do watch it.

I mainly show my interest over the internet by defending bronies on YouTube videos or posting comments on related materials. I don't always pay attention to huge sites like Equestria Daily, so some pretty cool videos usually slip by me (such as "Pony Note").

Right now, I'm just trying to look up videos of Trotcon, Galacon, B.U.C.K, and Everfree Northwest.

I know the feeling, "time and place" for sure. Just recently had a wierd run-in with another fan (female) at walmart in the DVD section. I over heard her say she's looking for MLP stuff, and like an idiot I started to whistle the theme song and muttered "20% cooler in 10 seconds flat." Apperantly she had super hearing or something and looked at me. Lemme tell ya, it's hard to stay cool or blame someone else when your the only one standing there. XD

Didn't really wanna make a new topic just to ask a simple question since it's still part of the fandom and series. But just wondering if anyone has bought any merch to show off their broniness? I keep seeing more and more shirts coming out at hot topic and even one at sears. Maybe that's alil too much for the average fanboy, but how bout dvds or those lil blind bag ones. I've seen'em cheapest at k-mart for only $1.99

I'm not sure about the exact date, but from what I've read in other forums it's schedualed to start next month some time. Hope that helps alil, the wait is almost over.
