Manga Library and Manga Exchange

Postby Kari » Tue Aug 04, 2009 9:19 am

Thanks to all of you that have donated to the Kawaii Kon Manga Library, thus far. From your generosity, our library has grown tremendously. But we are always seeking donations to help our library grow bigger! If you want to help out, please contact me via PM so we can arrange a time and location to meetup.

Please only donate if you are sure you want to. All donations become property of Kawaii Kon. You won't get anything tangible in return, instead, you get warm fuzzies knowing you had a part in helping Kawaii Kon grow. ^_^

For those of you that are reluctant to donate your manga but would be interested in changing up your own personal library, or if you have manga you no longer read and want something new, we are offering a manga exchange.

Basically, how it will work is if you have something we don't have and we have something you want, we can make a trade. :) Please note that the condition of the book(s) will be taken into consideration on a case by case basis.

Any questions on donating or exchanging, feel free to PM me. If you are interested in exchanging at Kawaii Kon, it would be easiest if you contact me first so you don't have to lug your books there in case we already have them in our library.

Is there a specified due date to when we can donate? Like, say I want to donate a bunch of manga at the end of March or the beginning of April? Is that too late for you?
I have alot of manga that is just lying around right now and I figure I'll read through them once more before giving them to y'all.

I wonder if my friend would be willing to donate his half of Chobits when he's done with it. If he is, I will donate my half too.

But one question before we do that; how many Chobits volumes are in the library already and which ones are they?

I would say that's a pretty much definite yes, but to be sure, I guess you have to wait for the O.K.

Yes, you can. Just give it to any of the manga library staffers. :)

Just wondering...

Besides manga, do you also accept anime dvds, even VHS too? I'm not quite sure, my friend gave me a box full of japanese anime before he moved to the mainland. He has been collecting old school/ early animes from the 80's, 90's.

I haven't yet checked them through, so I may keep some and give the rest to you, that is, if you will take them.

If there is any early "Robotech" anime and "Love Hina" first epis, I'm calling dibs on them! 8)

Sorry, I must've forgotten to reply to this post. The manga library is strictly books at this time, as it's only open for the duration of the convention. However, if you would like to donate anime dvds or vhs to the kon in general, I'm sure we could find a use for them in some way. ;)

Oh, that's awesome! Thank you so much! You can just drop it off in the manga library during the kon. We're in the same room, as usual.
