OK... since we are getting to know each other right here on this here forum in what we want, we could glomp ( I can't believe I'm saying this) those who we know that posted, by ID 'ing what character you are, as Konagirl had stated earlier. Perhaps this also by holding up a sign saying, "Hugs/Glompings here". Maybe not too forward phrases like "Wanna glomp?" or "Please glomp me!"
In order to keep this "granted permission to glomp you, sir/ ma'am" device acceptable, we must do it in a more of a down scaled manner, as to a "May I?" courtesy hug, not a rambunctious, "hit an' run flying tackle" hug as what glomping is best known for. Yeah, I know that is boring, and not so fun, but so we don't get scoldings, it has to be done in a non threatening unhurtful manner.
To still satisfy your urge to glomp, I shall suggest another idea that maybe permissible. Have those who is with it, sign up to receive a bright, colored tag or pass indicating that you are part of what is called the "Lonely Glomper's Club". These members will allow a righteous glomping, not so a wild, knock down free for all hit, but a friendly, courteous "don't hurt me" hug. Members who can find each other can earn "huggie points". Sign, mark, or remembered who they glomped from the club until all have been squeezed. You can find and hug each other as much as you want (Doing this also to be a good example to "bad glompers"), but one point will be allowed. Non-members or untagged cosers don't count (but you still can hug them). By the end of the day, or of the entire convention, one member shall arise as the "Righteous Glomper"!
I may have put myself on the Administrator's hit list for posting this, but I just have this idea as a way to get first time cosers as well as returning ones to socialize and to meet new people, because there are those that are out there that don't have a group to be with, so this can be their group. And just to make a good, fun, social, get to know you game out of it.
"Hey, check it out... I'm part of the 'Lonely Glompers' Club!" (The L.G.C!)
Bottom line, no matter how you try to enforce it,there will always be hugging or "glomping" going on, especially @ a anime convention, where there are so many "kawaii" things you want to glomp the living daylights out of. It is totally unavoidable.
Oh, BTW Raijin... if this does goes legit, you wanna be the president of the "Lonely Glomper's Club"?
You've got my vote, mate!
