What is this Toyota is trying to pull? I'm proud to have a Corolla! I'm surprised to see Hatsune Miku is being introduced to a wider audience.

This guy at work was like: 'Steve, you know anybody in a band?'
And I was like: 'I'm in a band.'
And he's like: 'You're in a band?'
And I was like: 'Yea, I am totally in a band.'

There was these three blokes in Heaven, who were ready to go to Earth...

Selected and granted a very special wish, the Creator instructed them what they must do before they are sent there... He said to them:

"My dear Sons... I have awarded each and every one of you the ability and choice of whatever you want to be on planet Earth, whatever it be a living, or significant landmark that will be remembered for all time. To achieve this, you must run one at a time, to the end of Heaven, and leap towards Earth. Just as you leap, you must shout out what being or thing you wish to be, and you shall become that of which you have chosen. But remember... be wise of what you say, for once it is done, there is no changing back to your former self... Do you all understand?" With an eager nod, all three complied.

So with that, the first bloke, who who had a passion for the magic of flight, runs towards the end of Heaven, leaps off, and shouts out: "BIRD! BIRD!" Suddenly, he changes into a bird, then flies off down to Earth...

The second gent, who loves the water, runs towards the end of Heaven, leaps off and shouts out: "FISH! FISH!" Turning into a fish, he dives into the ocean, and swims away...

The third and final bro of the three, who wasn't very bright, takes a deep breath, breaks out into a running start, and runs with all his might to the edge of Heaven...

But just as he gets to the edge, and leaps to Earth, saying what he want to be, he trips and screams:"AW, CRAP!!!" :P

jubjub2amv's YouTube channel has been suspended. She's (I think it's a woman) is responsible for creating the opening AMV for Opening Ceremonies and Buma's Butishake and apparently it was Studio Ghibli that flagged her. YouTube needs to lighten up.

Went to Manila for the first few days, then took a plane to the island of Mindanao to visit my family there and spent most of my vacation there. Then took a plane back to Manila where we spent the last few days shopping at The Mall of Asia and a Robinson Shopping Center where I got most of my merchandise.

Well, I basically got a lot of cool posters for a very cheap price, which was worth it. I also bought a full set of K-On! figurines. Then a Touhou plushie, and then a Hatsune Miku bag. I was sad I never found any Rin Kagamine merch :(

Hope yer neighbors are cool... mine's are OK... but sometimes you wanna lock the kiddies up some place for making too much noise outside... now and then I have to tell them it's time to go in, or I'll just tell 'em like how an old duffer would to get them off his front yard...

EH, GIT OFFA MY FRONT PARKING LOT, YA ROTTEN KIDS!

Congrats on your move! :)

How should I go about getting roomates for the Ala Moana Hotel? I only know one person who is going to the con (friend of mine), but she lives close so I doubt she wants to co-pay. IDK in Flroida it's easy to find roomates, do cosplayers board-up during Kawaii Kon?

Yes they do here, and it really helps alot when more than one, two, three or so people rent out a hotel room for the Kon. Your posting here is a start, so someone will sooner or later reply to you, but just to say, the best time that's gonna happen is just before the New year starts, even the very month the Kon begins! (some cosers tend to be "last minute" when it comes to this kind of predicament. Some others probably because they had a fall out with another group, though, most hotels ask you to RSVP several months ahead, so you posting now is not too early). If no response from anyone, say, within a week from now, you can start a thread about your situation.

Go luck, and happy roommate hunting! :)

Hmmm... whatever happened to that thread that was speaking about the Kawaii Kon Beach Day at Ala Moana Beach park this coming Sunday, August 14, 2011, 9am-5pm... it vanished out of existence, probably? Went to the Kawaii Kon newsletter instead?

Was thinking, for the beach wear cosplay contest... I was gonna wear something outrageously GREEN! :P

Thanx, Pizza.

Just to let you know, I'm only joking when I make those kind of "references"... I don't do those things... 'cause I'm what was (and still is) called a nickname for a designated driver at parties and events that had friends or clients that had alittle too much to drink... and whatevers... they called me:

KEOKI KOOL! 8) A name coined to someone who don't drink and drive, or abuse themselves, and is the sober one who drove people home safety. :D

But at times I love to be rascally, and sometimes make like I am... YEAH, MAAAAAAN! :P

Watched National Geographic Taboo: Fantasy Lives , which showcased several strange, and weird behavior of people with different "Taboos": one of a man who acturally "loves" his collection of cars, an American woman who moved to Berlin, Germany to get close to her "lover", the Berlin wall, and others, including a full grown man who dresses and acts the whole charade of really returning back to infancy. ( the name I have acquired from watching this program is "objectum sexural"... pardon for being frank, but that is the description of condition the indivduals who " love" their cars, walls, buildings, structures, etc. in a rather *ahem*... explict verbal, physical, and mental fashion... makes me spot that scene of Mary Gallenger having her way with a tree in the movie "SuperStar"... indeed... strange behavior... ).

The main attractions of this circus of weirdness documentary I tuned in to see is a Japanese Kick Boxer who dresses into his fave female Anime Characters, and a Maids Cafe in Japan that has cross-dressing "Maids"... as if we all haven't seen a bro inna girls' dress at Kawaii Kon...

This segment is about Yuichiro "Jienotsu" Nagashima, a KickBoxer who has a thing for female Anime dresswear... I wouldn't tell him anything differ!
Note: The seg is two stories, starting with the "reborn babies", so If you want to skip to his segment, it starts at 8:15...

http://youtu.be/oBQOuZGTs8U
(Note: UPDATED LINK 10/10/11)

And... this is the one of the Maids Cafe, with blokes in girlie clothes... lol... view this as a follow up from the cross-dressing Kickboxer...

http://video.nationalgeographic.com/vid ... males.html

The bloke has a female stalker? Hmmm... talking about the tables have turned...

LoL, I remember this guy. He actually is quite good. I saw when he came out at Ranka Lee, it was pretty funny.

He reminds me of the Kathoey(Newhalf or Bakla) who was the former muay tai champion. He would kiss the guys he beat after the fight. His story was actually pretty interesting. Kind of like Bell Nuntita from Thailand's Got Talent.

Man, you got to have some real stones to go into a maid cafe where the maids are dudes, or be comfortable with your sexuality. Hmm, nope, probably both.

Hey... I know Fett! He owes me money! JJK! Eep... me tinks me just put myself up on his hit list! My apologises to my CO!

Aye, yes... that was very entertaining and fun... had to get up very early though (around 4am), especially if you're driving out from places like Wahiawa to beat the in town traffic! But it was worth it, as myself and my mates got to meet KHON's evening weathrman, Justin Cruze, who actually got to wear and charaded as a 501st member TK, a Stormtrooper (thanks to one of our members, Kevin, for loaning it to him), it was a Halloween surprise he wanted to do for the morning crew ( Jai, Olena, Trini, and Kirk. Malono Morales was on-location assignment) and to kick off the day of Halloween... no one really knew it was him until he took off his helmet! That was so AWESOME! NOTE: Be knoweth to all, Justin is a STAR WARS FANBOY... so the Pac 501st just might have a CELEBRITY TROOPER in their ranks! YESSS! :D

And the "Fett" story, that was awesome too... I never knew my CO had so much Bobba collectos! Makes me wanna say: "I wanna be like Bobba!"

Got part of the word that there will be a casting call for an extra to play Alex O'Loughlin as a 16 Yr. old teenager for an upcoming episode on HAWAII 5-0. Heh... I am supposed to know all of the tiny details (I'm part of the Hawai'i Actors Network) of this once in a lifetime role on one of the hottest TV shows on CBS... almost any young, high school-aged credible person with the "look" will be selected... dang, it for me! :( Some say that his very own son should play the role, but he first need to deprogram his accent to American... FYI, O'loughlin is an Aussie... could had fooled me, mate! :P

Errr... don't have the web address at the mo, but can Google it: Hawaii Five-O Network Casting call, or Hawaii Actors Network

So, if you know anyone that closely resembles Alex in his younger years (one responded saying his brother-in-law looks like him, but he's thirty-five yrs. old! Stand-in stunt double, maybe? Fat chance, as O'Loughlin does most of his own stunts himself ), Or you yourself have some kind of seperated at birth features, check it out...

Yeah, not of him as a teen, but I like this action shot! Hmmm... could form up a 5-0 COSPLAY GROUP in the future, perhaps? Cool modee with the tactical vests, badges, .45 or Glock side arms, tan fatigue pants and mountaineer boots! 8)

I would so want to play the part of Alex's 16-year old self, but sadly, being asian doesn't help. Though that 5-0 cosplay idea does sound cool :3

You still can apply/ sign up to be an extra for the show, it will be alittle tasky should you be a hardcore extras participant, one that wants to get the more juicy parts, such as speaking in one scene, or having 15 seconds of fame by being a thug or groupie of a crime lord boss, such as McGarrett's nemi, Wo Fat (Mark Dacascos!). A part I wouldn't mind having, but those parts are very short lived, most likely, the small time hoods of his gets offed in the first fight scene... should that ever be the case for me, I want the part that calls for me to die in a dramatic death... BIG TIME! As for now, the smallest roles I got up for is an extra on the street, and a vagrant in some park scene, like Aala park or Kaka'ako... well... no glam, but it's a start!

Of course, they already had the cosplay casting call last season for that faus comic con epi, some of which I did see our people... for a split second or two on the air... I don't think they will ever have something like that again, perhaps for a New Year's or Halloween epi, but it was totally cool beads they had Kawaii Kon Ohana members in there for season 1! :D

Aye, the 5-0 cosplay would indeed be cool, I'm thinking of doing that as an comfortable all around costume to wear... but not so easy to obtain, as even that you must be as close to looking the part... the clothing, side arms, and maybe the badge (not too authentic... or HPD will be taking note). I've already had someone in thought to be Kono, but she is much too cutzy tiny to be the part! Got a bradda who can be the male version of Kono, but the new gen today don't have a Polynesian member of the 5-0 team, but doing the retro of the 70's show is good too! :)

A Hawaii 5-0 cosplay group? I wonder how much of the attendees would recognize that.

On a completely separate note: Herman Caine made a Pokemon reference in his withdrawal speech. Jon Stewart took that and ran with it, using clips from the first two Pokemon movies. I felt a little tormented. I face-desked.

Taco bell is giving away 5000 PSV's starting today through March 11. Buy the $5 box and there's a code on it or something. There's also ways online, but those are STOOPEED.

If you don't trust me, standard link: http://unlock.tacobell.com/

So now you have more excuses to get your special mountain dew.

Also, Community being on hiatus sucks.

This, times 1000. I didn't think me and my co-worker could be the only ones to watch Community. At least it isn't cancelled.

Worthy FYI: for those of you who didn't know, the Taco Bell dog, was a girl-dog named Gidget Tipperton, who passed away March 12, 2009...
woah... almost the same as the ending date! Adios, Gidget! you are missed!

'LO

YouTube always becomes ten times more interesting whenever you're supposed to be doing homework. Got an ES 330 paper due Friday, while I'm stuck watching episodes of Jonathan Creek and Q.I. Curse you Alan Davies and BBC!

ES-330? Is that "Japanese in Hawaii" with Okamura? If it is, then I'm guessing that you are writing your JCCH paper. Lecture for that class was super boring, and he's such a serious professor. You should be able to pass that class no problem though. I took that class and AMST-310(Japanese Americans) at the same time, so everything kind of synced together nicely. GLHF!

On a bit of a downer note, someone's using my mom's cellphone number to advertise baby food on Craigslist. -_-
