Steampunk SATURDAY 3/17/12 @ 2 PM

So...I wasn't gonna do a Steampunk costume for kkon, but with the theme being alice in wonderland, figured it would be a good opportunity to reuse my dreamy dormouse. Who's in? Doesn't need to be alice in wonderland themed. As for the date, we'll set it up closer to Kon.

Another interesting theme would be like a dawn of the new world. With 2012, what with some people saying the world may end, others think 2012 will have a major event that will change humanity for better or for worse. It sounds super Steampunk to me.

Ha ha ha ha ha of course I will bring steampunk back! Ha ha ha three years running now of course I have to bring it. As for what we shall see. I may bring out Hatter again for this or something completely new. We shall see indeed. I also like the idea of a dawn of the new world theme. Interesting idea. May try and do something like that too.

Aye, good deal, I will be one of the Mad Hatters to be there for next year... really thinking of being a purple colored one... something a cross between Steampunk/ Alice in Wonderland, and Willy Wonka ( Johnny Depp) and the Chocolate Factory style! The hair will be short banged, in the tint of red, may try to have two slightly different cosplays... one for general use, such as all day photo ops, and one for the Moonlight Ball... being alittle abit fancier... thinking of totally dressing up for that. Also, remember hearing that the Gents can now wear a hat, as long it is part of the formal costume, and the character is known to wear it often... you may correct me if I am wrong... it is OK for women to wear their hats indoors, but not quite proper for men to do so.

I think we can still do a Tea Party GT... but it wil have to be outside in the back of the convention center... again... thinking if it would be OK to set up a small pop up tent for the refreshments table in the same area we were at this past Kon. But yeah, we'll see what KK will be like next year...

Whatever will be, it should something be interesting for Kawaii Kon 2012!

Here are some steampunk pics from Dragoncon where we had a Guinisess World record for most steampunk attendees in one room.... over 300 something. Previous record of about 150 at SDCC. You had to do more than just dress the era and wear goggles. It had to include a gadget that was attached to you. Strange but that was the rule. Needless to say so many people were turned away. Then we stayed in the room to celebrate the Time Travelers Ball. What a fun experience.

I hope this time I can attend Kawaii Kon... My mom says that she is planning to buy my 3 day pass soon, though nothing is set in stone. I just want to put this out there to let you all know that I wish to attend this gathering. If I am not banned from being with you all that is. If I am welcome then I would like to place a request. Could I ask if its alright for me to dress up as a female "White Rabbit" or something similar? I may also have a friend tagging along, she plans to be the "Queen of Hearts" if that is allowed. I wish to see you all soon, If I am able. I hope you all have loads of fun if I cannot make it.

Oh baka chu baka, we steampunkers welcome all Steampunk outfits. If people show ip representing the same character, that's fine too. Steampunk is about exploring creativity and personalization (in my opinion). If you and your friend come, you are welcome. We'll figure out the day and time closer to kkon.

well mom says she is going to buy the kawaii kon tickets!~ I am aiming to get a 3 day pass for both me and my friend. I have a question... how many of you are going to this years moonlit ball? my mom, my friend and I are wondering if its worthwhile to go.... so please tell me weather it would be fun for a 15 year old and a 19 year old!~

EDIT: Since I cant find a good pair of rabbit ears I was wondering if I could be Alice instead? we already have 2/3 of the outfit planned out, the other 1/3 is just figuring out what colors for the outfit to use and which accessories to wear with the outfit!~

@baka chu baka...I've never been to the moonlight ball before so I don't have any opinions about it. I know it's usually from 9PM on Saturday and they have a dance teaching session before it for those who want to learn to waltz. I know it will be alice in wonderland themed, but that's about it.
