It is now time to close out the list for 2012 and begin a new list for 2013. Please keep this thread only for guest suggestions please. If you would like to talk about guests please start a new thread to continue the discussion. Thanks.

BTW, we will only consider folks who have work in the industry and who ARE in the industry.

List of possible guests that would most be the HARDEST AND IMPOSSIBLE to get to come to Kawaii Kon for various reasons including but not limited to are money, level of work and attention needed, etc, etc, etc. It will take a miracle of biblical portions to change that status.

Just wanted to also point out that there are four persons who are on our "Grey" list. They are on this list because of their actions at other conventions that cause us to be very very concern. Actions such as rudeness to attendees, other guests & staff and questionable ethical & moral behavior overall. At this time we will not consider them for guest status until we can be sure that they have changed their ways. A number of you have requested them by name in the past.

I will not mention their names or the roles they have played. So don't ask.

There is another factor for not inviting them as well. These four have not done any work recently. Their last project has been more than a few years with two of them being completely out of the anime scene altogether.

We only have two persons on our "black" list. Thankfully none of you have mention either of their names or what roles or work they have done. I will not mention their names either. Don't ask.

I'll still campaign for LittleKuriboh/TeamFourStar even if they don't really stand up to our guests' usual level of professionalism/prestige.

If Mr. Dahlin's hopeful implication at the end of last year's convention that he might possibly, kinda-sorta, maybe invite at least one VA from American cartoons in the foreseeable future, I would like Tara Strong to be considered.

Of course, any previous guests are welcome but I would especially like to see Travis WIllingham or Steven Blum
On second thought, I don't recall if Steven has been on the convention circuit lately so his attendance may be unlikely.

I wish we could get legendary Japanese guests like Nobuo Uematsu. Although his band may actually be related to Sony or Avex, so never mind. Go with someone else: perhaps Daisuke Ono. The problem with some seiyuus is that they do character songs for some series, and they may be represented by Sony or Avex.

If it has to be in the industry then I say we invite the actual sources of the amazing animes and mangas we love, not just the people paid to put voices to them though I respect their work too. Why not invite mangakas or writers from Japan? These would be ones I'd love to see:

Longshot attempt that will ultimately go nowhere:
Marianne Miller: a voice actor without the great prestige as every other guest we had, but is in the industry. She had recently married Martin Billany (a.k.a. LittleKuriboh).

I still like to think that Stan is toying with the idea of having guests who have done strictly American animations. Vic did name-drop Tara Strong as a good friend.

Eyeshine did leave a very positive impression, so I would like to see them again.

I initially thought that having mangaka as guests would be hard to do since their schedules would be typically full (if even half of the manga writing process depicted in Bakuman is true), but then I remember Jin Kobayashi, Stan Sakai, and Yoshitaka Amano (although, technically, he's just the illustrator).

Since Todd Haberkorn is confirmed for 2013, I was kind of hoping that we might luck out and get Chris Sabat as well. That would be an interesting opening ceremonies . . .

I'd also like to either see Justin Cook or Aaron Dismuke. Perhaps both since they are actually cousins.

bring back eyeshine for 2013. they're the ONLY reason i was there this year, and i enjoyed it (the reason i didn't raise my hand when everyone was asked "who's coming next year?" is because it depends on a few things for me: 1. guest -didn't go in 2011 because there were no guest that i wanted to see- 2. personal status -money and/or living-

with that said if eyeshine comes back in 2013, then i'll do what i can to be there.

would video game VA's be considered as "in the industry"?
if so then i would like Jason Marsden to come down, he recently played the english voice of Noel Kreiss in final fantasy XIII-2 (according to imdb anyway)

One of the main American voice actors I would like to see for KK2013 is Micha Solusod. He did the voice for Soul in Soul Eater. Especially since Todd is coming down (confirmed at closing ceremonies). Death the Kid and Soul?! Amazing

I also wouldn't mind Tara Strong coming down. Although she hasn't done any anime, she is amazing. She was the voice of Bubbles in PPG. As well as Raven in Teen Titans, Timmy Turner, and many more. I just think it'd be nice if we had at least one western VA since we don't have a Comic Con here and most of us cannot afford to go D:
