What manga are you reading now?

Postby overseer06 » Thu Jan 12, 2012 10:53 pm

I was debating for a while whether or not to make this topic. I figured that the "What anime are you currently reading" was enough for this board, but recently I find myself reading manga more than watching anime.

Anyway, aside from the usual shounen series from Weekly Shounen Jump, I've been re-reading Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and keeping up-to-date with Fairy Tail and Mahou Sensei Negima. I've also been reading the Pokemon Special manga and going back to Detective Conan. Actually, upon retrospect, there is a boat-load of series that I enjoy.

I recently learned about Pocket Monster Reburst. I literally gaped for a minute before face-palming. It's basically Pokemon (of course) crossed with Digimon Frontier (that's the one where the kids essentially can become Digimon, right?).

Always re-reading Skip Beat, oh Reeeen~! (Loving the latest arc so hard.) I also am re-reading Dengeki Daisy and started reading an interesting non-shojo piece Bloody Cross. Other wise there are a lot of series I just try to keep up to date with as new chapters come out. Kuroshitsuji, Pandora Hearts, noticing a Square Enix trend here (Bloody Cross also a Square Enix series), Noblesse, Tower of God, Dr. Frost, Liar Game, lots of stuff.

I've also been rereading Skip Beat. And Shaman King, just because.

Besides that and the 3 usual manga from SJ, been keeping up with Bakuman, Kaichou wa Maid-sama, Kuroshitsuji, Ao no Exorcist, Deadman Wonderland, D.Gray-Man, and Vampire Knight.

I am quite excited about Bakuman. I think it's reaching its climax.

I power-read through Ratman and Deadman Wonderland online and bought the latest Itsuwaribito. I've also been reading the Phoenix Wright manga.

I am also currently re-reading Fullmetal Alchemist, Black Cat, and Eyeshield 21. It's nice to go back and read a series in its entirety if you have the time.

There's some manga that's been on hiatus for a while or have been removed from publication, but I still re-read them occasionally: Highschool of the Dead, DNAngel, and GetBackers.

I still follow D.Gray-Man and Arisa, but their update schedule is so inconsistent that I don't really care as much anymore.

Only manga I keep up with is Sora no Otoshimono. Though I try to check up on Liar Game and Kannagi. I'm debating about reading kami nomi zo shiru sekai as I have only been following the anime.

I've been following Skip Beat for awhile and am looking forward to the next ark (which will be out in another month or so). AKB49 is also moving on to a new arc.

Since Bakuman and Magister Sensei Negima have ended, I've been reading Sengoku Basara, Denpa Kyoushi, and Drifters.

I also just found out that Claymore finished. Kind of abruptly.

Hmm...I have so much manga that are currently either on hold, or i'm just not in the mood of finishing them, but right now since bakuman finished, i've been concentrating on kuroko no basuke manga, since the anime came out.

Welp, ever since Deadman Wonderland and Highschool of the Dead unexpectedly updated earlier this year after being on hiatus for 1-2 years, I'm reading them again in anticipation for their next chapters. Gamble Fish is another one, but its update schedule isn't really all that reliable.

On the Shounen Jump front, I officially gave up on Bleach and my interest in Naruto had significantly diminished.
However, I recently discovered Shokugeki no Soma. Might be a bit ecchi for some people but if it's mild enough for Shounen Jump, it's fine by me. My favorite series, One Piece, is already part way into a new arc.

Reading a couple of seinen manga, Nobunaga no Chef and Bartender. And I just want Gantz to hurry up and end already.

Tried to stick with Codebreaker and Medaka Box, but eventually gave up after missing several important chapters. However, I'm still following World God Only Knows and Hayate Combat Butler for some reason.
