Hiya! So, I just recieved a glidecam for Christmas. and I am planning on shooting videos at Kawaii Kon. Well I want to do videos with Cosplayers in it of course. But I don't want the cosplayers to just stand there and give a peace sign. So if anyone is interested in being in a video in character in cosplay let me know. Might also want to do a lip dub video.

I'm getting a pretty big response from this. So, I'll put the names of people who want to participate on this post soon. I can't give time and places yet, because I just don't know yet. I am doing about a million things at con this year so, stay with me.

Hello my pretties! Ok so the songs, yes thats right song(s), are going to be I believe in a thing called love AND moves like Jagger. both songs are gonna be spliced together. So it'll be different than the lip dubs already out there. I like to be different.

I don't know 100% the times yet. I'll post them soon. I'll be carrying around a HUGE *?:" sign that says "KAWAII KON LIP DUB". It won't be hard to find me. I'll put up locations too. If you have a severely tight schedule like I do. Let me know and i'll try and meet you so you can be in the video. I will try and be accomidating but I can't promise it.

All the cosplayers are pretty animated. The 2nd video they did the cosplayers are EVEN MORE animated. And they all know the words. ;p

So if you are SUPER SUPER shy this video prolly isn't for you. That being said. BE AS GOOFY AS YOU WANT. This is supposed to be a fun video!

React to the lyrics of the song. If you wanna be risque that's ok too. So practice in front of a mirror. That's what I do all the time. Don't judge me. I like to pretend I'm a rockstar sometimes. lol Also, any cosplay you want is fine. If you want to be in the video twice that is ok too, just bring a diff cosplay ona diff day, or hell, even the same day is fine.

Alrighty guys! After hearing back from some people. I have decided to stick with I believe in a thing called love by the Darkness. I think doing just one song will be alot easier for everyone with the crazy schedules we all have! So, the lyrics are super easy, and its just such a FUN song. Every time I hear I just act silly. So yea, I have some fun ideas for editing as well.

So yea that's the official song.

Don't forget I'm also doing the convention cosplay videos too. You'll see me around with my camera so yea. Happy cosplaying!

Cool! Ummmm, no specific music yet. I'm open to suggestions. I really like other cosplay music videos with mainstream top 40, but I also love techno. I might get enough footage for multiple videos too. Maybe a video for each day. That would be ideal, but I am doing artist alley and a panel so I'll be super busy. But definately gonna have a video. That's why I think it would be easy to get volunteers now.

Ha, ha, cool modee to see a thread such as this. Like the vids you do there of KK, Wolfgirl!

Funny... since our dear and long time Kon video ninja Sephi Hakubi most likely won't be gracing the Kon next year, there are some of us who are interested in doing vid shots and candids this time around... looking forward in those fan vids!

I myself have some interest in filming/ making a music vid too... well, if I think I have the time to do so... it will comprise of everyone at the Kon, lots of on "on the fly" shorts, takes, shots of different places, and action/ doings/ events either during one day, or throughout the 3-4 days of KK (I consider Thursday pre-reg and events auditions day/night a day too). There is a story plot that somewhat intwines in there somewhere... two known anime characters who are a couple, and the Boy of course singing/ lipsincing to the music track, serenading to her while on their adventurous romp thru the Kon, with various Cosplay characters they run into along the way... ok... thought I share/ reveal that, since I trust you all, yea? lol, did that just to inspire you there... if this gets too big of a production, I may need to ask the Artist for his permission... a local braddah, the song I would like to use from him... :wink:

I have to say, I will miss Sephi's Sushicrowd epis and segments... they kept me informed of some to most of the events I couldn't go to because an event I'm committed to was scheduled at the same time... so do well. vid ninjas!

Out of those I really like Entertainment and Moves like Jagger. Moves like Jagger has the feel I want. Entertainment just cuz I love Adam Lambert. The lyrics are rather suggestive and would be better for a diff kind of video (yaoi) which I'm not opposed to making either.

I like that one a lot too, but I worried you might not want to use it since Acksonl's new video, well second newest since he just put out another one 2 hours ago, uses that song so I offered lots of alternatives. And I would love to be part of a yaoi video! Whatever you have in mind I'm up for! ... If I have time that is. (Cosplay showcase, cosplay theater, booth at artist alley....)

Aye, well, again, if I get to make it, the vid willl be a fun, happy go lucky, kinda mushy vid featuring a guy singing about his girl while jammin' and gettin' tha groove on (dancing... heh) to the bouncin' soundtrack beat... wanted to keep the artist and song in particular a surprise, but we'll see... :wink:

@Betwixt Realities: When it comes to time, I totally agree... I just wish I had alot of it to do all the things I would like to do at the Kon!

I am really excited with the events lined up this new year. And though I usually just go to a couple of them, it still is something to dance about.

My friends and I are actually planning to go to Japan next year just so we could see how things go about over there. Though nothing really serious yet knowing that kids just talk about anything that easy.

XD Yeah I'll totally be down for whatever as you know, costumes being Shinpachi, Mephisto, Shizuo, Komui, Ventus, Joker for a little, possibly Oz, maybe Rikku, annnnd I thiiiink that's all. I can do whatever you need, I don't have any problems with being provocative or even having to kiss a person if you really need it though I know most others don't let anyone do anything other than stage kisses which I'm a little out of practice but used to know how to do. As long as it isn't life threatening or physically impossible for me any stunts or actions are also okay.

As for which song you choose, Moves like Jagger is very popular now and has a smooth but upbeat pace that can fit to almost anything and anyone. So those who do tend to go stiff and kind of just stand there when filmed wouldn't be too out of place. (Had another person who does videos complain about that most people do that.)
I Believe in a Thing Called Love is very upbeat and less casual and laid back, like in the video you selected you expect some pretty epic happenings to accompany it, actions and so on which might be hard for the average person to feel comfortable doing in front of the camera. If everyone is able to do this though I would go with this song since it is a timeless classic with a touch of ridiculous that would fit the random assortment of anime characters very well.
I'm Sexy and I Know It is a provocative song which needs bold people, even more than A Thing Called Love, since these aren't just energetic charged lyrics but somewhat sexual ones since the focus of this song is the body and especially the penis. Since most of the cosplayers I meet are female even if they were all for rocking out on camera it might be different when they have to suddenly emphasize on a bodily organ they don't have and were raised to be embarrassed about. Of course it doesn't necessaryily have to focus with the groin since only in certain parts of the lyrics is it very specifically reference. (Wiggle, passion in my pants.) Still like Moves Like Jagger is is a calmer tempo which means people who just kind of stand in front of the camera would be fine.

This is just my personal review, feel free to disagree with any of it and all of it if you feel it is unfairly judging the songs or the general populace. But yeah just look at sync cosplay videos on youtube and you'll see what I mean about most people just not knowing what to do with themselves. Cosplay Fever's videos are a noted exception and I definitely think that before going into the video you might want to try and have some 'practices' or at least general instructions for people so they can follow them rather than freezing up. The hardest thing to be told can often be 'act however you like' with no guidelines or even suggestions.

So far I think your song suggestions are really good. Moves like Jagger would be fun and so would Party Rock Anthem. Lol I don't know which is better! XD
You could also take the best songs and mix them all together. Like, it could start out with Moves like Jagger for part of it, and then let it fade into a different song maybe for a different theme of cosplay or something. I don't know if I'm making sense because what I'm really thinking is kinda hard to explain... But are you going to do three different videos for each day or all three days in one video? Because that could change how you want the songs to be.

If you want lip syncing be sure to post the finished audio up here with enough time for us to learn the song. I already know most of Moves Like Jagger and can start focusing on Believe in a Thing Called Love but knowing how the music will be in the end would be a big help.
