Staffing

Kawaii Kon brings in thousands of anime fans to each convention, and we need help managing ­it! That's where the staff comes in. We need people to help out and keep Kawaii Kon running smoothly. If you are interested, take a look through the Staffing section and see what's in store.

Volunteer sign-ups for Kawaii Kon 2009 have started! Please make sure that you read the Staffing Requirements and Regulations before you apply. If you are under the age of 18 (and at least 16), you can sign-up, but you'll need to fill out a Parental Consent Form. All these documents are available in this section of this website.

Artist Alley - Artist Alley is an ever growing department of Hawaii's Anime Convention, Kawaii-kon. As being part of the Artist Alley Department we make sure to help Artist find the 'audience' for their artwork while providing a professional environment for aspiring artists to learn to tools needed to break into the animation business. As such the Artist Alley always needs staff that are more then willing to help these talented artists!

Dealer's Room - The Dealer's Room is where all different vendors sell their merchandise. Staffers monitor the Dealers' Room, help out with the vendors if needed, and handle the merchandise of Kawaii Kon, for example, Kawaii Kon T-shirts.

Events - Where all the main events happen such as Karaoke Contest, Concerts, and many more. Staffers run the main events that happen during the Kon and make sure these events run smoothly and on time.

Manga Library The Manga Library is where Kon-goers can come to and read their fave manga or check out a new one. Staffers monitor the manga in the library as well as its readers.

Registration - This is where Kon-goers pick-up their badges as well as purchase them. Staffers handle and distribute badges to the Kon-goers and also handles the finances of the video gaming tournaments.

Staffing/Operations - The base of all the staffers. Operation staffers help out with other departments when needed, make sure everything is running smoothly. They would also run the information booth.

Tabletop Gaming - This is where Yugioh, Magic, and other tabletop gamers come to, to battle against each other! Staffers would monitor the tabletop gaming room as well as monitor their events

Technical - The backbone of the Kon! Staffers handle all the audio/video gear (and some other things), including setting it up, monitoring the equipments around the Kon, and tear down too.

Video Gaming - Video gamer's Heaven (or Hell, whichever you prefer) where they may come and compete against others, or just play a few video games. They have most of the recent popular games as well as some of the popular classics. Staffers would monitor the room and the gaming tournaments.

Video Room - This is where the Kon-goers can partake in and watch some of their fave anime. Staffers would monitor the videos that are played in the rooms as well as its viewers.
